Celebration of Al’s life

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

By now, most of you have heard the sad news. Al Sprague, President of bGG Advertising, has passed away. His passing was indeed unexpected, as he was recovering from pancreatitis with hopes to be home soon.

Albeit a surreal experience for all of us, we are reminded of his wishes: to celebrate his life lightheartedly and make him proud of the business he built and so willfully let his employees manage.

The last couple of years have been great for Al. He learned to delegate more, put a succession plan in place and decided to take more time for himself at his condo in Florida. He chose to stay in touch with his clients however, as they were just as much his friends as they were his customers. Al finally stopped working six days a week, 12 hours a day and enjoyed taking off for long weekends. He’d phone into the office on Monday just to remind us all that it was 80 degrees and sunny in Fort Myers, while it was 35 degrees and slushy here in the Granite State.

While he has moved on, his immediate family and his bGG family stand strong. He would have it no other way. On behalf of his family, thank you for your prayers and thoughts.

To honor him, please join us for a Celebration of Life - Thursday, November 6 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord in The Governor’s Hall. Directions and parking information are available here in PDF format. To see his obituary, please click here. If you wish to make a donation in his name, it was Al’s request that you contribute to the Palace Theatre here in Manchester.
